“RESTORE OUR EARTH”!
Today Thursday, April 22 2021 is the 51st anniversary of Earth Day!
Earth Day is an annual event to honour the Earth and to demonstrate support for environmental protection.
1st class pupils went on a scavenger hunt to help them really appreciate the outdoors and nature.
They also learned what symbols are displayed on packaging to help them recycle waste correctly now and in the future
Early Start had a great time participating in Earth Day celebrations. They first discussed what makes up the earth and they read The Earth Book by Todd Parr. Afterwards they discussed what actions were mentioned in the book and why they help the earth. They then made their own list of promises that they will do to help the earth. They wrote them down and recorded ourselves saying their promises for their parents to hear so they can help them with their promises. After this they went on an Earth Day Scavenger hunt to help them appreciated the nature in the world around us. They also did some tree rubbings. Everyone really enjoyed it and said it was their favourite part of the day.
